Quietly Kept

For household managers

A craft worth
keeping well.

Quietly Kept introduces experienced household managers to Australian families who value the work — and gives you the calm software that makes the day legible to everyone in the home. You set your hours and your rate. The household pays you directly. We take no margin on your wages.

Who we look for

People who treat a home like a small, beloved organisation — and write a tidy handover note.

Likely a fit

  • i.

Five+ years running households, EA work, or a hospitality back-of-house

  • ii.

Comfortable with diaries, vendors, and the awkward email

  • iii.

Discreet, unflappable, and good at writing things down

  • iv.

Australian-based, with the right to work and to use a car if needed

Probably not us

  • Looking for live-in or full-time on-site placements

  • New to running a household and seeking a training programme

  • Cleaners, nannies or in-home carers (those are different crafts)

  • Wanting agency-style booking work paid through a platform

What you get

Three things, looked after. So you can look after the home.

Introductions, the platform, and a partner who answers your messages. We don't take a cut of your wages.

01 ——

The right introductions

We brief you fully before any household sees your profile. You decide whether to be put forward. No mass-shortlisting; no surprise interviews.

  • Curated household briefs
  • Full context before video calls
  • Decline freely, no consequences
  • Pre-agreed scope and rate
02 ——

The platform, free to use

The same calm software your households use, designed first for the manager on their feet. Routines, vendor book and handover notes — the running of the home, written down.

  • Routines & checklists
  • Handover notes & pantry
  • Vendor book that travels with you
  • iOS app for in-home use
03 ——

A partner in your corner

When a contract needs adjusting, a holiday needs covering, or a household conversation gets difficult — there is a person at Quietly Kept who knows your work.

  • Named manager partner
  • Holiday cover from the network
  • Contract & rate-review support
  • Mediated transitions, if needed

From application to first week

Two unhurried conversations, then a brief that fits your week.

Day 1

Apply

A short application — your background, the kind of households you keep best, the hours and rate you want to work.

Week 1

A first call

Forty-five minutes with our team. Verification kicks off in parallel — ID, references, working-with-children where relevant.

Week 2

A second conversation

A craft conversation: how you handle a difficult vendor, a missed school run, a household in transition. We compare notes.

Ongoing

Briefs, when they fit

When a household matches your shape of work, we send you the brief. You decide. No quotas, no pressure to take what is wrong.

Day 1 of role

Quietly kept

You engage with the household directly. Your partner at Quietly Kept stays on email — quarterly check-ins, ad-hoc when you need us.

The platform · for managers

The day, written down, so the home runs evenly when you're not there.

The same software the household sees — framed for the person doing the work. The day, in order. Handover notes that get written between school runs. A vendor book that travels with you between roles.

Pay & terms

Your rate, your relationship. We take nothing from your wages.

Households pay you directly — through their accountant or payroll provider, on the terms you agree with them. Quietly Kept charges the household, never the manager. The platform is free for you to use, for as long as you are working with families we have introduced.

What we are not

Said plainly, before you spend an evening on the application.

§ i

We are not your employer.

You are engaged by the household — through their payroll provider or as a contractor, on terms you agree with them. We help with the paperwork; we do not pay you.

§ ii

We do not chase your wages.

If a household is late paying, your partner at Quietly Kept will help you have the conversation, but the receivable sits between you and the family. We are honest about it from day one.

§ iii

We are not a booking platform.

No surprise jobs, no per-task pay, no rating system. We aim for one good household per manager — a relationship, not a gig.

§ iv

We do not place cleaners, nannies or carers.

Different crafts, different governance. If that is your work we will say so kindly and point you to specialists who do it well.

Quiet FAQs

The questions managers actually ask.

If yours is not here, write to us. We answer every application personally, even when the answer is no.

01

How many households should I expect to take on?

+

Most of our managers keep one household well, or split their week across two nearby homes. Somewhere between 15 and 35 hours total. We will not put you forward for a mix of hours that pushes past what you said you wanted.

02

Am I employed by Quietly Kept?

+

No. You are engaged directly by the household — either as a contractor or through their payroll, depending on what suits both of you. We provide template paperwork and stay on hand to help, but the working relationship is yours.

03

Do you take a percentage of my wages?

+

No, never. The household pays a one-off placement fee and a monthly subscription to us. Your wages are between you and the household, in full.

04

What if a household and I are not a fit?

+

Tell us early. We will help you have an honest conversation, find cover, and re-shortlist for the household. It does not sit on your record, these things happen, and the way you handle them is the part that matters.

05

Do I need to be in a capital city?

+

No, but the work is in-home — so you and the household need to be near each other. We brief and shortlist within a sensible commute of the home. Most of our managers are in or around Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane, with a growing number in regional centres.

06

Is the platform really free for me?

+

Yes. Free for the life of any engagement we introduced. If you bring your own households onto the platform alongside us, that stays free too.

07

Can I keep the households I already have?

+

Yes. We don't ask you to give up existing relationships, and we don't take a finder's fee on the ones you bring with you. We earn our keep on the introductions we actually make.
